Practicum Hours November 28th

After my interview with the counseling center Dr. I came back to the studio and started to piece together my package. I took notes regarding the B-roll I still needed to get and recorded the script.

Practicum hours Nov. 28th

Last night at 9 pm I had scheduled an interview with Allyson Hovda, a senior who will be graduating after next semester. I had already written out a guideline of questions.

1 hour

This morning I had an interview with one of the doctors from the counseling center. Prior to the interview I prepped a list of questions. The interview was very long as the Dr. had a lot to say on each question. I found my questions to be more than adequate but also found the conversation very flowing and I obtained a lot more information than originally expected.

Practicum Hours November 27th

I am currently working on a package for the Southern News Network on how to deal with the stress of finals and for graduating seniors the stress of graduating on time with the right grades.

Today I went out and shot all my B-roll. For each location and shot and wide, medium and close up shot. From past experiences I have learnt that the more footage you shoot the easier it is to piece the package together. Before I shot my B-roll I wrote out a draft script so I got an idea of how I wanted the package to look.

I also scheduled two interviews, one with a Dr. at the counseling center and one with a graduating senior.

My interviews are both scheduled for tomorrow.

Practicum Hours

Last week I helped out with the intro to broadcast class with them filming an orange juice commercial.

We checked out the cameras and used TUTU's cafe to film. I was in charge of the two cameras we had, making sure that they were in the right position and we went around and filmed each person individually saying their part.

Practicum Hours Commercial

Last week I filmed a commercial for a PR class. They asked for a comm. major to help out with filming and editing. I took my Olympus Penn camera which has a HD camera because it is amazing quality and light and easy to carry around.

We went to two different bars before we found the right area for lighting and surroundings to film. I directed the whole commercial and we did about 7 run throughs of it, making sure that I had enough footage for editing and that it ran smoothly.

As soon as we were done shooting I went home and immediately started editing the footage. This took quite a while because there was so much footage to go through and I had to make sure that it was all pieced together in the right sequences. After getting the footage in order I then added music and some special effects.

Total 6 hours.
